Introduction

Debloaty ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Information We Collect

We collect information that you provide directly to us:

  • Account Information: Your name and preferences when you set up the app
  • Health Data: Food logs, meal photos, symptom ratings, and gut health scores you enter
  • Usage Data: How you interact with the app to improve our service
  • Device Identifiers: Your device's Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) for analytics and attribution purposes
  • Attribution Data: Information about how you discovered and installed the app, including the marketing channel or ad campaign that referred you

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and personalize the Debloaty experience
  • Analyze your food and symptom patterns to identify triggers using AI
  • Send you notifications and reminders (if enabled)
  • Improve and develop new features
  • Process your subscription and payments
  • Measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns and attribute app installs to marketing channels

AI-Powered Data Processing

Debloaty uses artificial intelligence to provide personalized gut health insights. When you use AI-powered features, the following data may be sent to our servers and processed by third-party AI services:

  • Food Analysis: Food descriptions, meal photos, known triggers, and allergies are sent to our servers, which use OpenAI's API to analyze nutritional content, FODMAP levels, acidity, and inflammation risk.
  • Onboarding Analysis: Your onboarding responses (name, age, gut feeling, symptoms, symptom timing, food sensitivities, duration, and health goals) are sent to our servers for AI-powered analysis to generate your personalized gut health plan.
  • Chat (Debloaty AI): Messages you send to the Debloaty AI assistant, along with contextual data (recent food logs, symptoms, gut balance scores, and onboarding data), are processed to provide personalized health guidance.
  • Log Interpretation: Text, photo, or voice inputs you submit for logging are analyzed by AI to categorize and interpret your entries.
  • Audio Transcription: Voice recordings are transcribed using OpenAI's Whisper service. Audio data is processed but not permanently stored.

By using these features, you consent to this data processing. Your data is transmitted securely using encryption and is not stored by third-party AI providers beyond the time needed to process your request.

Data Storage and Security

Your health data is stored locally on your device and on Debloaty's secure servers. We use industry-standard security measures, including encryption in transit, to protect any data transmitted to our servers. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Third-Party Services

We share data with the following third-party services to provide our core functionality:

  • OpenAI: We send food descriptions, meal photos, health data, and chat messages to OpenAI's API for AI-powered analysis. OpenAI processes this data to generate responses but does not use it to train their models. See OpenAI's Privacy Policy.
  • RevenueCat: We share your device identifier and purchase information with RevenueCat for subscription management and payment processing. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
  • Expo: We use Expo's push notification service to deliver reminders. Your device push token is shared with Expo for this purpose. See Expo's Privacy Policy.
  • Tenjin: We use Tenjin for mobile analytics and advertising attribution. Tenjin receives your device identifier (IDFV), app events (such as onboarding completion, log creation, and purchases), purchase data (product ID, currency, quantity, and price), and SKAdNetwork conversion values on iOS. This data is used to measure marketing campaign performance and understand how users discover our app. See Tenjin's Privacy Policy.
  • PostHog: We use PostHog for product analytics to understand how users interact with the app and improve the experience. PostHog may receive usage events, device information, and session data. See PostHog's Privacy Policy.
  • Sentry: We use Sentry for error monitoring and crash reporting to identify and fix issues in the app. Sentry may receive device information, app state, and error details when a crash or error occurs. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.

Each of these third-party services is contractually obligated to protect your data and provides the same or equivalent level of data protection as described in this policy.

Tracking and App Tracking Transparency

On iOS, Debloaty requests your permission to track your activity through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) framework before collecting any attribution data. You can decline this request or change your preference at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. If you decline, Tenjin will not receive your advertising identifier, though limited analytics using your device's Identifier for Vendor (IDFV) may still be collected to provide basic app functionality insights.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Delete your data at any time via Settings → Reset App Data
  • Opt out of notifications
  • Opt out of analytics and attribution tracking via iOS App Tracking Transparency settings or by contacting us
  • Export your data

Children's Privacy

Debloaty is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
